“Ghajini” producers Allu Arvind and Madhu Mantena are going to make a Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster “Magadheera” and they are reportedly considering Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan to play the main leads. “Yes Allu Arvind and I are remaking ‘Magadheera’ in Hindi. As for the cast, it’s too early to talk about it. But ‘Magadheera’ is definitely being planned to be bigger than ‘Ghajini’,” Mantena told IANS. Released in July this year, “Magadheera” has already grossed over Rs.65 crore in India alone and is said to be the second-biggest Telugu hit after “Ghajini”. With this Telugu remake into Hindi that is expected to take off early next year, Arvind and Mantena hope to raise the bar for action-drama cinema in Hindi once again. The remake, to be budgeted at Rs.70 crore, is highly ambitious. While in the original, which is set in 17th century and present, the hero Ram Charan Teja plays a double role, the remake will split the hero’s personality into two parts. Apparently Hrithik will play the samurai from the Middle Ages while Aamir will play Share Khan Role.
However, now producer Allu Arjun of Geetha Arts has decided to remake the film in Hindi with Hrithik Roshan in lead role. Allu Arjun has recently produced Aamir Khan starrer “Ghajini’ that topped the charts with abundant collections of Rs. 200 Crores within 2 weeks. Much impressed with Hrithik Roshan’s screen presence in “Jodha Akbar’, he has been opted to perform lead role.

Magadheera to slug it out with Vijay' and Ajith's films this Pongal
The Rajamouli-directed Magadheera, which created a history in Box-Office collections in Telugu, will see its Tamil version release very soon.
After news came that some portions in the first half will be reshot with Tej and a Kollywood comedian, its materialization seemed all the more true.
The film has not even reached the 100-day mark in Telugu, but plans for a dubbed version have seen good progress in recent days. Though we have to wait and watch how the film will fare in Tamil Nadu, Ram Charan Tej must be having his fingers crossed over the project.
Made on a mammoth budget by Geetha Arts, the film helped Charan to catapult himself to starry orbit. It has been a long time since we last heard a Telugu hero eager to make a mark with a new audience, and Charan has to be appreciated for the audacity he is showing though the young actor is just two films old.
Discerning that Tamil audience are, Charan stands a good chance to be accepted there with this love story with histrocal backdrop, because action-based films are enjoying good currency there.
Moreover, the kind of lavishness and grandeur Magadheera boasts of is something no Tamil film has had in the past. The challenge the producers are certain to face is that of bringing nativity in script and screenplay.
If only the film gets acceptance in Tamil Nadu, the Hindi remake will get a great fillip. But the film is going to face competition from two big releases when it finally releases on Pongal day. One is Ajith-starrer Asal and a Vijay film.
One wishes Charan all success!

MAGADHEERA AS MAAVEERAN IN TAMIL
Telugu film Magadheera, starring Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja, which has created a record of sorts by grossing Rs 25 crore in its first week of release, will soon be dubbed in Tamil as Maaveeran, which was also the title of a popular yesteryear Rajinikanth film. Magadheera is a fantasy movie made at cost of Rs 39 crore, and the storyline talks of reincarnation and revenge. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film had Kajal Agarwal in the lead. Though there were many offers to remake the film in Tamil, the producers decided against it as they felt that recreating the grandeur and special effects would be an impossible task. But the Telugu version will not be released as it is in Tamil, as they later came up with a different plan to dub the film in shoot certain scenes to get the local flavour in. For instance, the role of a Muslim emperor played by Srihari in the Telugu version will be reshot with a Tamil actor. Sources reveal that either Sarath Kumar or Arjun will be roped in for this role.
Also, a separate come dy track featuring Vadivelu will be canned.
From Orkut Megafan.
"Just wanted to share the experience. Just came from Magadheera movie 11:00 PM show in serra theaters. Watching for the 3rd time. First time in US, Jalsa is the movie I watched 2 times. I can't beleive in the 6th weekend, 80% occupancy in the theatre which is equivalent to 300 ppl. What i noticed is most of the people who came to watch for the movie is repeated audience. Generally even to watch a movie once in US, ppl do lot of calculations like "is it worth to watch", review ratings etc etc. Watching multiple times is like unbeleivable. Especially sunday late night shows, I wouldn't expect such a good turn out. If the response is like this in US, we can imagine how the movie is faring in Andhra. First time I bought the ticket for $16, second time (third weekend) bought for $13 and now for $8. Still not out."
